I am a native of Onslow County, North Carolina, where I reside with my wife, Tami, our children and grandchildren. I am a graduate of White Oak High School and East Carolina University.
My passion for art started at an early age and continues as a self motivated artist. I have attended (and taught) many classes and workshops and studied under many great artists including John Ebersberger, Tony Griffin, David Dunlop, Mike Rooney, Scott Boyle, Jeremy Sams, Eric McRay, Dick Ensing, Robert Burridge, and John Cox. For over ten years, I expressed my creativity professionally through photography. Tami and I owned and operated Photography by Rosage, a portrait studio in Jacksonville, North Carolina. For the past 20 years, I have expressed my artistic creativity as a fine arts painter with gallery representation at Baxter's Fine Art Gallery in New Bern, Council for the Arts in Jacksonville, Community for the Arts in Kinston, ArtExposure in Topsail, and Todd Mercantile Gallery in Todd, NC. I also maintain an online gallery shop of artwork at Etsy. I am a full time employee with Onslow County Schools as an art teacher at Jacksonville High School. I also teach art workshops to adult artists through my business, Onslow Art Expressions.
Today, my students, have a direct lineage to Claude Monet, the Father of Impressionism. The lineage of my instruction goes back through John Ebersberger who I had the privilege of studying under during the summer of 2015. Ebersberger was a student of Henry Hensche. Henshe's teacher was Charles Webster Hawthorne, founder of the Cape Cod School of Art and who studied under William Merritt Chase. Chase was Monet's contemporary and considered the Father of American Impressionism.

"Life is an attitude. Art is an expression of life! Your best work is your expression of yourself... Where brush tip meets canvas marks the starting point of an incredible journey."
